    Numerical study of three-dimensional separation and flow control at a wing/body junction

    The problem of three-dimensional separation and flow control at a wing/body junction has been investigated numerically using a three-dimensional Navier-Stokes code. The numerical code employs an algebraic grid generation technique for generating the grid for unmodified junction and an elliptic grid generation technique for filleted fin junction. The results for laminar flow past a blunt fin/flat plate junction demonstrate that after grid refinement, the computations agree with experiment and reveal a strong dependency of the number of vortices at the junction on Mach number and Reynolds number. The numerical results for pressure distribution, particle paths and limiting streamlines for turbulent flow past a swept fin show a decrease in the peak pressure and in the extent of the separated flow region compared to the laminar case. The results for a filleted juncture indicate that the streamline patterns lose much of their vortical character with proper filleting. Fillets with a radius of three and one-half times the fin leading edge diameter or two times the incoming boundary layer thickness, significantly weaken the usual necklace interaction vortex for the Mach number and Reynolds number considered in the present study

    The existence of anticipatory, complete and lag synchronization in a single system having two different time-delays, that is feedback delay Ï„1\tau_1 and coupling delay Ï„2\tau_2, is identified. The transition from anticipatory to complete synchronization and from complete to lag synchronization as a function of coupling delay Ï„2\tau_2 with suitable stability condition is discussed. The existence of anticipatory and lag synchronization is characterized both by the minimum of similarity function and the transition from on-off intermittency to periodic structure in laminar phase distribution.Comment: 14 Pages and 12 Figure

    Competitiveness of India's Manufacturing Sector: An Assessment of Related Issues

    This paper provides an analytical abstract of various parameters of manufacturing competitiveness of the Indian economy. India's manufacturing exports have risen impressively in the past decade or so and found to be directly linked to the world GDP and inversely related to real effective exchange rate (REER). Indian manufacturing industries have certain inherent strengths and advantages in having a relatively inexpensive, adequate and skilled labour force, cost-effective and competitive prices of goods produced, large manufacturing base and proximity to fast growing Asian markets. India is one of the leading producers and exporters in a number of commodities and enjoys significant advantages in terms of lower labour costs as compared to other economies. Nevertheless, India's competitiveness is lost on account of lower labour productivity and higher input and material costs. To improve the competitiveness of the Indian manufacturing goods, issues like further diversification of export basket, upgradation of export quality, improvement in productivity, increased technology intensity in production, enhanced R&D activity, encouraging business environment, less cumbersome regulatory environment, flexible labour laws, removal of infrastructural bottlenecks and SME related issues need attention of all concerned.Manufacturing sector, Competitiveness

    Semi-bracketed contextual grammars

    Bracketed and fully bracketed contextual grammars were introduced to bring the concept of a tree structure to the strings by associating a pair of parentheses to the adjoined contexts in the derivation. In this paper, we show that these grammars fail to generate all the basic non-context-free languages, thus cannot be a syntactical model for natural languages. To overcome this failure, we introduce a new class of fully bracketed contextual grammars, called the semi-bracketed contextual grammars, where the selectors can also be non-minimally Dyck covered language. We see that the tree structure to the derived strings is still preserved in this variant. when this new grammar is combined with the maximality feature, the generative power of these grammars is increased to the extend of covering the family of context-free languages and some basic non-context-free languages, thus possessing many properties of the so called `MCS formalism'

    Quantal Two-Centre Coulomb Problem treated by means of the Phase-Integral Method I. General Theory

    The present paper concerns the derivation of phase-integral quantization conditions for the two-centre Coulomb problem under the assumption that the two Coulomb centres are fixed. With this restriction we treat the general two-centre Coulomb problem according to the phase-integral method, in which one uses an {\it a priori} unspecified {\it base function}. We consider base functions containing three unspecified parameters C,C~C, \tilde C and Λ\Lambda. When the absolute value of the magnetic quantum number mm is not too small, it is most appropriate to choose Λ=∣m∣≠0\Lambda=|m|\ne 0. When, on the other hand, ∣m∣|m| is sufficiently small, it is most appropriate to choose Λ=0\Lambda = 0. Arbitrary-order phase-integral quantization conditions are obtained for these choices of Λ\Lambda. The parameters CC and C~\tilde C are determined from the requirement that the results of the first and the third order of the phase-integral approximation coincide, which makes the first-order approximation as good as possible.     A new automata for parsing semi-bracketed contextual grammars

But these grammars fail to generate the basic non-context free languages thus unable to provide a syntactical representation to natural languages. To overcome this problem, a new variant called semi-bracketed contextual grammar was introduced recently, where the selectors can also be non-minimally Dyck covered strings. The membership problem for the new variant is left unsolved. In this paper, we propose a parsing algorithm (for non-projected strings) of maximal semi-bracketed contextual grammars.     Virtual Infrastructure based Routing Algorithm for IoT enabled Wireless Sensor Networks with Mobile Gateway

    The IoT technology is seeking the attention of industry and researcher day by day due to its large number of applications and is off monitoring and controlling the object from the remote location. The very basic and important element of IoT is wireless sensor network where sensor nodes are attached with the object and generates the sensory data related to the object an actuator can provide the movement to the object. To make it a success reliable and efficient communication model is the main requirement. To fulfil the objective related to IoT application success in this paper a communication protocol called virtual infrastructure based routing algorithm is proposed. In this proposal a virtual cross region structure is formed in the central of the sensor network, which is called meeting region. In this meeting region the sensor nodes send their generated data and the gateway node receives those data.  The problem of energy hole, the mobile gateway node is considered in this proposal. The proposed algorithm is implemented using the standard wireless sensor network simulator tool and compared the performance of the proposed algorithm with the existing algorithm based on some standard performance metrics. The simulation outcome exhibits that the proposed algorithm outperformed the existing algorithms in different performance metrics
